The sports team at Manchester-based law firm JMW Solicitors LLP have launched a new immigration service aimed at both football clubs and players. JMW have teamed up with EMD, dedicated immigration specialists, to offer services in a different league.
The new partnership can handle all footballers’ immigration and visa needs, from their transfer to a new club to a romantic weekend away with their other halves!
International footballing celebrity, Blackburn Rovers striker El Hadji Diouf is just one of the premiership players engaging both JMW and EMD. His P.A., Sue Whittle said, “The service EMD provides is excellent, if Diouf needs anything they’re always there with up to the minute advice and support. He’s delighted with their personalised service.”
JMW and EMD can offer both clubs and players a range of advice on immigration issues and bespoke training, including immigration applications for players and supporting clubs to become a Tier 2 Sponsor, enabling them to recruit international players. EMD provide specialist, Home Office accredited English language tests to support sports visa applications. The dedicated EMD team can also provide English language training for players so they can communicate effectively with their team-mates, club management and the press when they relocate to the UK.
Stuart Hanson, Managing Director at EMD commented;
“We are happy to be working in conjunction with JMW offering immigration service to both players and clubs. We feel that JMW’s sports law offering to both athletes and clubs is a unique service and I think it will benefit from us both working together to offer another relevant and specialist product.”
Ben Haworth, Head of Sport at JMW, will head up the new immigration service for clubs and players and work closely with EMD’s Managing Director, Stuart Hanson. Commenting on the new service, Ben Haworth, Head of Sport said;
“We are pleased to have teamed up with EMD to be able to offer immigration services to both football clubs and players. This is a very complex area and we feel that with EMD’s specialist knowledge we can help guide both clubs and players through this often difficult and confusing process. With Soccerex taking place in Manchester next week, we feel this is the perfect opportunity to launch our new service to the clubs. We believe that our new service further strengthens the JMW sports law brand.”
JMW are currently global legal advisers to Soccerex and last week had a stand at the European Forum that took place at Manchester Central. The event marked the launch of the new immigration service to clubs. To read about it in the Manchester Evening news click on the link below:
