The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is the accepted qualification for those working or wishing to work as a teacher in a range of specialist subject areas in the Education and Training Sector.
What you'll learn

This course enables you to gain a thorough understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer in relation to legislation, equality and diversity, and meeting the needs of learners. It also addresses the use of assessment and the creation of inclusive learning resources. You must have access to 30 hours of teaching practice, which can be in a paid or voluntary capacity. There are 6 mandatory units of study (21 credits) as follows:

Assessment
Method

This qualification is assessed on an ongoing basis during the course. Assessment consists of a series of assignment which you will complete as you progress through the online course content. Teaching practice: 3 hours must be assessed directly (out of the 30 hours which must be evidenced). EMD Assessors can assess via Zoom or video recording, or authorise a suitably qualified person in your company (holding minimum Level 4 Education and Training, or equivalent) to observe you on our behalf.

Entry
Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. This course is open to learners of any age (19+) and background. You don’t need any prior qualifications or experience although you are expected to be familiar with using online systems. You must be confident in your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in English. You must have access to 30 hours of teaching practice, which can be in a paid or voluntary capacity.
